Who We Are
We are a company based in Felgueiras, Portugal, since 1985, that is specialized in rubber soles for fashion and technical rubber soles for safety shoes. We produce an average of 6000 pairs of vulcanized rubber soles a day (natural rubber, SBR, NBR, etc.), one/two colored soles by injection and compression.
Our main sole production is for private labels (exclusives soles) that we develop for the brands. The other production segment is for our own collection. Sustainability has been a priority to our company, therefore, during last years, we developed a few ecofriendly materials, in order to contribute to reducing the ecological footprint.

NATURE
Nature is a new revolucionary material developed by our I&D laboratory team.
This material is a mix with natural rubber and biosílica from rice husk.
This creates a material 94% from natural origin.
LATEX
This compound is from 94% biobased materials like natural rubber and biosílica. This material makes the sole very flexible providing excellent comfort to the shoe, thanks to its outstanding resilience when the material is elastically deformed. Good mechanical properties also provide great durability.
BANANA TREE FIBER
Banana tree fibers can be found in Combocals soles. Our rubber has differentiating characteristics, adding value to the final product from an aesthetic and ecological point of view. In the sole, small fibers can be seen on the surface and in the elastomeric matrix, natural pigmentation is obtained after incorporating the fibers, thus adding a biodegradable component to the final product.
COFFEE GROUNDS
The incorporation of coffee grounds into the rubber makes it possible to obtain a compound with a natural dark brownish pigmentation, as well as a natural aroma characteristic of coffee.
COFFEE HUSKS
Our coffee husk rubber is a biocomposite containing coffee husk resulting from coffee roasting. These biowastes allow the polymer to obtain a natural pigmentation with a characteristic taupe tone.
NATURAL CORK
Our rubber with cork waste is a material resulting from the incorporation of granulated cork waste into our rubber formulation, thus providing a unique appearance.
RUBBER WASTE
The waste produced by Combocal can be incorporated in the form of crushed rubber waste, after a granulation process, where different particles can be observed on the surface of the sole.
TYRE CORD FIBER
The use of polyester fibers from the tire production industry in a polymer matrix creates an innovative elastomeric material with a unique concept.
RICE HUSK
Around the world, 742,541,804 tons of rice are produced per year. Resulting from this cultivation, one of the main residues are rice husks. In some cases, they are sent to industrial landfills. This way, we give new life to the shells, through their incorporation into rubber.
